2026 NAACP Lobby Day

Wednesday, March 4, 2026

Lobby Day is a comprehensive advocacy event during which NAACP members from across the state convene in Albany to engage with their legislative representatives in both the Senate and the Assembly. The aim is to advance the agenda on issues prioritized by our state conference. Given the Albany Branch's proximity, we also address urgent matters impacting the safety and quality of life for Albany residents.

The executive committee members of the Albany Branch held meetings with Senator Patricia Fahy's office and Assemblymember John McDonald III. Both discussions were informative and productive.

For more information on the topics and focus areas of the NAACP across the state, please refer to the provided documents.

We are also including resolutions passed in January at the state conference quarterly meeting in New York City.

Become a member of the NAACP to get involved and stay up to date on legislation/bills that can directly impact you.

Our president, Debra Brown, represented the branch at the City of Albany's celebration of life for Civil Rights Leader Rev. Jesse Jackson, who passed away on February 17, 2026. President Brown had the opportunity to speak at this public event. We extend special thanks to News Channel 6 for recording the event and capturing our president's inspiring remarks.
